There is great pleasure camping in a remote
part of Australia on a still and starry night with only the sound
of the night fire.
There is great satisfaction to be able to do this for as long as you
like without having to start-up a generator. There is even more
satisfaction to do this with fresh bread every morning, hot showers,
cold drinks and plenty of internal lights - and still plenty of energy
left which is renewable! This is the goal of sustainable energy.
Caravan & camper trailer manufacturers
have not made it easy to achieve this goal in the past as there are very
few energy efficient caravans and camper trailers. However, after
working over the last 5 years, researching, trialling and using energy
efficient products, we are confident of having practical solutions.

For the Kimberley Konvertible:
Transportability |
With A low Tare weight and a typical work load of 800-1000kgs the unit can be towed by a Toyota Hilux turbo diesel as well as most medium size 4WD.
For camping, the add load would be far less and easily towed by a small 4WD or car.

The construction is nearly 100% Alloy with independent suspension being in steel.
The use of the Aluminium Honeycomb that Kimberley uses at present is an aircraft type material with excellent properties for the Roof top tent floor.
The Ute body is a recycled Product from Tray body builders. |
Accommodation |
Std configuration would be to have 2 people in roof top tent.
Additional sleeping could be made available in back of ute body. |

Sustainability |
12V Power including solar |
eco-camper sells 70Ah of AGM Batteries with a Vehicle charge booster and 3 stage 12VDC charge as a pack. Additional 70Ah packs can be added.

Hot Water |
eco-camper sells a Diesel Hotwater Suitcase with the unique stainless heat exchanger and patented visi-flow allows the hot water to lift from an external water source with 4m head or from on board tanks. The hot water is virtually instantaneous (4 mins after startup) |
Cooking |
eco-camper sells the Stainless steel BBQ, Slide, Sink and pantray pack as seen in these photos |
Refrigeration |
eco-camper sells the 75litre Autofridge which uses eutectic technology that has the lowest 12V power usage per litre of any refrigerator (about 50% of the power consumed by most other brands). It can be used as a refrigerator or freezer. |

eco-camper sells the Presso Expresso coffee maker that just uses boiling hot water and creates similar pressure by hand as professional machines |
